Clara Quilt Pattern-Crib Size

In the process of writing Clara I only thought I was going to make one quilt which was the cover quilt. I am currently making my third quilt that is how fun and versatile the pattern is. More to come on that in a future blog. Now back to this sweet version of Clara. The fabrics for this quilt were intended for another pattern and I felt it was better matched for Clara. Here is the crib size of the Clara quilt pattern.

It measures 41"x 49" and it's put together the same way as the cover quilt. There are two different blocks, one is a flying geese block and the other is a rail fence block. The smaller size has less blocks but the technique is the same. There are several ways to layout the quilt and I am sure there are some I didn't think out. The pattern is very versatile and it leaves room for you to add your special touch.

The colors in this version of Clara are so sweet and calming. Perfect for a babies room. All the fabrics are out of my home fabric collection. I wanted to show that you can use what you have to make this pattern. There is a mixture of different fabrics from Kona Solids, Dear Stella and more. The geese are made from Moda Grunge and Robert Kaufman Quilters Linen. In case you can't tell Grunge and Quilters Linen are two of my favorite basics to sew with.

The layout in this quilt is alternating the Rail Fence blocks. This is one of three layouts provided in the pattern. The pattern has full color graphics for each step. It offers three different sizes; crib, small lap and large lap size. The cover quilt is the small lap and this quilt is the crib size quilt. I also provide a diagram that shows the different size layouts and a coloring page for planning out your quilt. The crib size highlighted in this blog is not only perfect for a baby quilt it is also big enough to cuddle on the couch with.

Clara Pattern is available on my shop page and is available in PDF and Paper version. Be sure to sign up for my newsletter which will have new blog posts which highlights new items coming to my shop.
