Purple Daisy Happenings!

First I can not believe we are already half way through November. Where has this year gone. I know I have been really quiet but I promise I have been working on some new stuff. Some of it I can't share right now and the other is a new pattern.

First I want to share about the new member we added to our family. Two weeks ago we adopted a 2 year old chow mix, here name is Emme. Jason and I had been talking about adding another dog for a bit but I wasn't sure I wanted to do the puppy thing at this point. Then we saw Emme who was being fostered with a friend and we were drawn in. As soon as I met her I fell in love. For a dog that had been abandoned and on its on for a bit she sure was sweet. Izzy struggled a bit having to share her mom and dad but she is adjusting. The first week we had some fights but this week Emme is settling in and Izzy is getting use to having another dog in the house. They are playing and hanging out together more. As I write this I can hear them upstairs running around and playing. It has definitely helped Izzy come out of her shell a little and we get to give Emme a forever home. She is a Texas girl so this will be her first winter. So far, the cold doesn't seem to affect her.

The other thing I have been doing to destress is crochet. This also helps me spend less time on social media at nigh and helps wind down my active mind. My Aunti Alberta taught me many years ago and I picked it back up a few years ago so I could make the dish cloths I like. I feel like this year it has clicked and I understand it better. I have made a few dishcloths, started a blanket and my first hat. There are so many great tutorials on You Tube. Here a few of my favorites.

I am going to be having a Black Friday Sale starting on November 24th thru 27th. All Quilts will be 20% off and patterns 10% off. Its a good time to buy for the quilter, quilt lover or yourself.

The other new thing I have been working on with Zoe Lautz is branding. I really wanted my patterns to stand out from others so I turned to Zoe who is an exceptional artist and fiber artist. You have to check out her social media to see some of her amazing works of art. She did an amazing job and I just love what she has come up with. The new pattern will be the first pattern to showcase my new branding. I will be converting my existing patterns after the new year. I will show you one of the designs the rest I will showcase with my new pattern.

Now to the new pattern. I am really hoping to release this pattern by the end of the month but I have some other time sensitive items I need to complete first. I will post on social when I have a firm date.

This pattern was a collaboration between me and my friend Mary Mraz. Mary and I have been friends for over 20 years and she was the reason I fell in love with quilting. She is more like family and I love sharing this adventure with her. I always give her all of my left over scraps and unused blocks from other projects because she can make amazing things from nothing. Its a gift what she can do with so little. The first version was made from half square triangles I gave her from a Quinn sample I made.

We tweaked it a little. I converted it to Illustrator added two more sizes and "Sprite" was born. Sprite was not the next pattern on my release schedule but when we finished it I had to bump it up on the list. I can not tell you how much I love this pattern. It is so versatile and I see so many cool versions coming from it. I have at least three planned. I made the test sample using a Christmas line from Figo and background is Quilters Linen from Robert Kaufman. This is the small version and it measures around 46" x 46". I am currently working on the other samples. I will share progress picks of the other versions on social media. If you are not following me you should I share lots of tips and tricks on there. I can't wait to get this finished so you can get your hands on it. Stay tuned for release date and more sample pictures.

Thank you so much for reading my blogs, liking my social media post and purchasing my products. I can't tell you how much it means to me. I am excited for all the new stuff coming in 2023. Be sure to share my web page with all your friend and family and leave a review if you have enjoyed my products. If you have a favorite local quilt shop in your area and you want to see my patterns there let them know. I am excited to grow this community. Have an amazing Thanksgiving and enjoy being in the moment with your friends and family. Its so good for the soul to take inventory of what you are grateful for. I am grateful for all of you.

Till next time,

Jody
